Description
The ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam is a mobile suit piloted by protagonist Kira Yamato from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED". This unit is equipped with a "Neutron Jammer Canceller," allowing its nuclear engine to operate normally. The abundant energy not only extends its operating time and enables high-mobility aerial combat, but also features high-energy, high-firepower armaments such as "Xiphias" railguns and "Balaena" plasma beam cannons. Its multi-lock system, combined with Kira Yamato's Super Coordinator abilities, allows it to simultaneously and precisely target large groups of enemy units. Due to Crypto's technological aesthetic and tactical logic being similar to the Freedom Gundam, the Freedom Gundam was chosen as his collaborative design in the "Gundam ✕ Apex Legends" event.
The "RG 1/144 Freedom Gundam -APEX LEGENDS(TM) Crypto Ver.-" is a modification of previously released standard kits. It utilizes black, gray, and fluorescent green molded parts to replicate Crypto's original in-game appearance, and also includes APEX original design marking stickers. The product's outer box art will also feature a full-color original design from the "Apex Legends" collaboration.
Each armor section features the series' characteristic precise part separation, rendering rich detailed sculpting at 1/144 scale. The entire internal frame is constructed using single-molded "Advanced MS Joint" frame parts. Combined with multiple interlocking armor mechanisms and multi-axis movable mechanisms for the back wings, it can achieve dynamic combat poses. However, older RG products released before 2016 that utilized full "Advanced MS Joint" frames often had issues with low joint durability and parts easily detaching.
The armaments include handheld weapons such as a high-energy beam rifle, anti-beam shield, and beam sabers. The two "Balaena" plasma beam cannons stored in the wings and the two "Xiphias" railguns on the waist can all pivot their muzzles forward, recreating the impressive "Full Burst Mode."
